Reforms in the church, three -year plan of Pope Francis

The synod's final document published in October 2024 is part of the Pope's teaching and requires the adoption by local churches.

As Grech explained in a letter to bishops and structures of Eastern Churches, the new three -year stage is currently marked by the involvement of all institutions, such as the Institutes of Consecrated Life, the Apostolic Life Association, secular organizations and church movements and communities. According to the Pope's decision, this road is to organize the ecclesial assembly in 2028 to strengthen the synod's fruit without the need to convene the next one.

The cardinal stipulated that the stage of implementing the provisions of the Synod should not be a simple implementation of the “directives in advance”, but the “process of receiving” the final document. This document, adopted in the vote, states that the church needs “healing, reconciliation and rebuilding of trust” in connection with many scandals around various abuses. It was noted that the Church must recognize its mistakes and ask for forgiveness.

“Following this path is an act of justice and the missionary task of God's people in our world and a gift,” says the synod's document.

Provisions of the three -year plan of the church reforms

The document indicates that “the crisis of abuse in its various and tragic manifestations led to the unspoken and often permanent suffering of victims and their community.” “The Church must listen to the voice of victims of sexual, spiritual, economic, institutional abuse, power and conscience on the part of members of the clergy and persons performing church functions with special attention and sensitivity of the victims of sexual, spiritual, economic, institutional, authority and conscience,” it was emphasized.

“Listening is a fundamental element on the way to recovery, crushes, justice and reconciliation” – this is another conclusion of the meeting. It was also recognized that the Church “must recognize her neglect, ask humbly for forgiveness, take care of the victim, equip himself with prevention tools and make an effort to rebuild mutual trust in the Lord.”

The text draws attention to the fact that “the Church is called to be poor, with the poor, who often constitute the majority of the faithful, and to listen to them.” There is also a postulate “spiritual renewal and structural reform to make the Church more participatory and missionary.”

One of the points is as follows: “We give a testimony of the Gospel when we try to experience relationships that respect dignity and reciprocity between men and women. Repeated words of pain and suffering from women from every region and continent, both secular and consecrated, show how often we can't do it.”

At the same time, the work of ten working groups is underway on selected topics regarding the future of the Church. One of them is the role of women who cause divisions in the hierarchy.

Health of Pope Francis

The Pope has been in the Roman polyclinic Gemelli since February 14, where he fights with bilateral pneumonia. In the Saturday Medical Bulletin, the Vatican said that “the clinical condition of the Holy Father remained stable, which is confirmed by the progress recorded last week.”

The announcement indicates that despite gradual improvement, the Pope still needs treatment in hospital conditions. He continues oxygen therapy and the need for non -invasive mechanical ventilation at night is reduced in stages.

“The Holy Father still needs hospital medical therapy, motor and respiratory physiotherapy” – it was written in a communiqué. It was emphasized that these therapies bring further, gradual improvement.
