This matter may be about some internal game – said Anna Maria Żukowska, chairwoman of the Left Club, in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24, referring to the anonymous report on the past of PiS presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki. – I read it as meaning that even PiS was scared of this candidate – commented Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska from the Civic Coalition.
On Sunday, the Onet portal published fragments of an anonymous study on Nawrocki's past, which indicate his connections with the criminal and neo-Nazi environment. Journalists of the “State of Emergency” program wrote that Nawrocki – who trained boxing in his youth – “still maintains close contacts with his colleagues from the ring and the gate, even though some of them are common gangsters, pimps, and hooligans.” They said that information on this subject had reached the authorities PISincluding to Jarosław Kaczyńskiwhen Nawrocki was one of the preferred candidates for president.
“Even PiS was scared of this candidate”
This matter was discussed in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 by Anna Maria Żukowska, head of the Left Club, and Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska from the Civic Coalition, member of the Pegasus committee.
According to Żukowska, “it may be some internal, factional game.” – We know that within PiS itself there were at least several candidates who were eager to do so and were willing to run (in order – editor) to strengthen their position within the party – she said.
– I read it as meaning that even PiS was scared of the candidate chosen by Jarosław Kaczyński – commented Kluzik-Rostkowska.
– When you are looking for a presidential candidate, you look at his strengths, but you also look at his weaknesses. And in fact, with every candidate you can always say – “okay, this will definitely be a situation for which he will be attacked.” But to choose a candidate for whom, a few days after the election, there are fifty pages (over seventy pages of a report on this matter – ed.) is simply an absolute world championship – added the KO MP.
– This is the belief – as I understand it – of Jarosław Kaczyński that in his opinion absolutely anyone can be president. This is the pauperization of the president's institution, she continued.
Żukowska: Pogonowski adopted the strategy of not remembering anything
The politicians also commented on the police bringing the former head of the Internal Security Agency, Piotr Pogonowski, to the meeting of the parliamentary investigative committee on Pegasus. Previously, he failed to appear at the meeting three times, citing the September ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal declaring the commission's work unconstitutional.
– This was preceded by several summons or invitations for Colonel Pogonowski to appear without such assistance. He didn't listen. As I understand it, today he calculated that it would happen anyway, so he was simply brought in – said Kluzik-Rostkowska.
– The colonel adopted a defensive strategy of not remembering anything. He didn't even remember when he himself was nominated to the rank of colonel. It's hard for me to imagine a person who doesn't remember his promotion, commented Żukowska.
– So (this is – editor) advanced sclerosis, which is only a method of defense against being accused of giving false testimony. Pretending that you don't understand the name Pegasus and that you don't know what program it is about is simply mocking the commission, said a representative of the Left club.
