The study on Karol Nawrocki's connections with the criminal and Nazi environment is a pseudo-report, said former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Tuesday. He added that it was a “pack of manipulation”. The head of the PiS club said that, contrary to media reports, he was not prepared at the request of Law and Justice. “These attacks are a dirty election campaign,” said PiS spokesman RafaÅ‚ Bochenek.
On Saturday, the Political Council PIS formally supported the candidacy of Nawrocki – current president of the Institute of National Remembrance and former director of the Museum of the Second World War in GdaÅ„sk – in next year's presidential elections.
A day later, the Onet portal published fragments of an anonymous study regarding the past of the president of the Institute of National Remembrance and former director of the Museum of the Second World War in GdaÅ„sk – Karol Nawrockiwhich indicate his connections with the criminal and neo-Nazi environment. According to Onet, this report was supposed to be sent to the PiS president JarosÅ‚aw KaczyÅ„ski before the decision that Nawrocki would run in the presidential elections with the support of PiS. Nawrocki declared that the report was a “deep manipulation” and a combination of “truths, half-truths and complete lies.”
Morawiecki: it's a bunch of manipulation
– This is a pseudo-report – he commented on Tuesday Mateusz Morawieckicalling the document a “pack of manipulation”. – I believe that this is evidence of fear of Dr. Karol Nawrocki – said the former prime minister.
BÅ‚aszczak: This report was not ordered by PiS
– There is no internal report on Karol Nawrocki. There is a lampoon available somewhere on the Internet. The lampoon is because Mr. Karol Nawrocki made a great start – commented the head of the PiS club on Tuesday on Radio Zet Mariusz BÅ‚aszczak.
According to him, Nawrocki “arouses positive emotions, many people come to meetings (…), he is very active and gives a chance to win, to stop the waltz that is sweeping through Poland, the waltz performed by the December 13 coalition.” – That's why they are so angry – added the head of the PiS club.
When asked who was the author of this report, BÅ‚aszczak said he did not know and that it was certainly not ordered by PiS. He also added that “the party will react to this situation.” – A lawsuit will be filed against PO politicians who present such insinuations – he said. These are KO politicians: Dariusz JoÅ„ski and MichaÅ‚ Szczerba.
The head of the PiS club said that the report could have been prepared by “some black PR agency”, but not at the request of PiS. BÅ‚aszczak also pointed out that Nawrocki referred to the case, assuring that these were insinuations and lies.
When asked whether the PiS leadership verified the information about Nawrocki's alleged contacts with the criminal world, BÅ‚aszczak replied that from the PiS point of view, the most important thing was that he had been checked by the Internal Security Agency and received a certificate of access to classified information at the top secret level. – It was a few years ago, when he was already president Institute of National Remembrance. These are current certificates, still valid and guarantee that the insinuations that appear are lampoons – said the head of the PiS club.
PiS spokesman: it's a dirty election campaign
PiS spokesman RafaÅ‚ Bochenek wrote on X in a comment to Onet's information that “Tusk and his media launched a brutal attack on the civic candidate for the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki.” “These attacks are a dirty election campaign of the main opponent of Karol Nawrocki and it should be read that way,” he said in the entry.
According to him, it is not true that “such a report has ever been prepared by Law and Justice.” “Today's attack shows how much the current ruling party is afraid of a citizen candidate for president.”
In the next entry he informed that “due to the lies told on press conference of MPs JoÅ„ski and Szczerba PiS will file a lawsuit for infringement of personal rights.” “We will prove that lies and manipulation are not a good way to campaign for PO vice-chairman R. Trzaskowski,” he added.
