Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announces that he will not inform the public about his travels. He explained that the reason for this decision was, among other things, that “the opposition and the media” provide information about his movements to activists who disrupt his program or may attack him. He added that he would inform the MPs about the December talks in Moscow.
Prime minister Slovakia Robert Fico returned to the country and posted a video on social media on Tuesday, in which he announced that he would not inform the public about his travels.
The head of government also announced a meeting of the most important officials in the state on the directions of Slovakia's foreign policy. Fico said his office was analyzing the situation in some of them European Union countriesespecially in Austria, Germany, France and Romania.
– The emergence of views other than those promoted by Brussels and the denial of basic democratic principles force me to propose to the highest constitutional representatives and the chairmen of the coalition parties that we announce a common position on this matter – said Fico. He specified that politicians would define the content and principles of Slovakia's foreign policy.
Fico: “enemies” demand all information
In the material posted on social media and recorded at the prime minister's office, Fico said that he had been in Slovakia for several days.
He stated that he would not inform about his schedule because “enemies” demand all information on this subject, and “opposition and media” provide information about his movements to activists who disrupt his program or may attack him. He assured that the public would not receive any information about his private plans.
About the trip to Moscow, where he was on December 22, 2024, and conversations with Vladimir PutinFico wants to tell MEPs from the parliament's European affairs committee next Friday. The Prime Minister confirmed that on Thursday, together with the Minister of Economy, Denisa Sakova, he would fly to Brussels for talks with the European Commission on the situation on the gas market after the end of the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine.
