Russia. New collection for the army – the largest since 2022

Vladimir Putin signed a decree with the spring consumption of Russian citizens to military service. The independent Russian portal of Meduza said that the army is to power 160,000 conscripts. This is the largest conscription since the outbreak of the full -time war in Ukraine.

In accordance with the new regulations, which were introduced in Russia Last year, citizens aged 18 to 30 are appointed to military service.

The decree signed on Monday by the President of Russia assumes that the consumption will last from April 1 to July 15.

This is the largest spring mobilization since the beginning of Russian full -size aggression on Ukraine – informed the independent Russian portal Meduza. In 2022, 134.5 thousand people went to the Russian army in spring, a year later 147,000 conscripts were incorporated, and in 2024 150,000 young men were taken.

The number of Russia's army is growing

Meduza emphasizes that the increase in the number of conscripts is associated with Putin's decrees with a gradual increase in the number of the Russian army. At the beginning of 2022, Russia had about a million soldiers, but in three years the number of the Russian army increased to one and a half million people.

What's more, at the beginning of February this year, the Ministry of Defense of Russia introduced amendments to the provisions on military medical examinations that significantly changed the procedure of research on military and conscripts. The Russian portal reminds that as a result of these changes in Russia it is increasingly difficult to obtain a dismissal from compulsory military service for health reasons.
