The Russian Ministry of Defense issued an urgent statement providing details of the latest action in the Barents Sea.
MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighters were to intercept two American strategic bombers W-52Н violation of the state border.

“As Russian fighters approach, American strategic bombers adjusted their flight course and then turned away from the state border Russian Federation,” the ministry said in a statement. After the action, the MiGs returned to their home airfields.
Moscow argues that the flight of the Russian fighters took place in “strict compliance with international rules on the use of airspace over neutral waters and in compliance with safety measures.”
Washington – for now – does not comment on these reports.
Russia. Military exercises in the Barents Sea
Almost a month ago on the waterthe Russian Navy conducted exercises with two nuclear units – “Severodvinsk” and “Orzeł” from the Northern Fleet.
The ships were to launch missiles that then hit a selected target in the Barnets Sea. According to the army, “the combat exercise was a success, and the missiles used confirmed their inherent characteristics and high reliability.”
