Police officers from Rypin (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship) received a report about the theft of a dog. After selecting the suspect, they went to him. During a home visit, the officers found not only a pet, but also drugs. The 42-year-old was arrested and charged. He faces up to three years in prison.

A woman reported to the District Police Headquarters in Rypin and reported that someone had stolen her dog, which she left in front of the store while shopping. The officers determined that the suspect in this case may be a 42-year-old man.

When the officers went to the man and asked about the dog, both he and his partner denied it and said they did not have any animals.

“At that moment, the wanted dog ran out of the room. During further activities at the scene, the police noticed the unnatural behavior of the household members and the burnt glass pipes lying on the ground,” we read in the police statement.

The police found a dozen or so ziplock bags with dried plant material at the bottom of the flower pot. Additionally, a jar was hidden in one of the shoes, which contained bags with a white substance. In total, the officers discovered almost 30 grams of amphetamine and over 20 grams of marijuana. The substances found by the police were secured, and their owner was detained.

The police took care of the dog and then took it back to its owner.

The 42-year-old was charged under the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction, for which he faces up to three years in prison. Based on the evidence collected by the police, the prosecutor placed the man under police supervision and banned him from leaving the country. He will also be responsible for stealing a dog.
