Banks have such large profits due to the high interest rates of the President of the National Bank of Polish Adam Glapiński – said in the program “Piasecki's Conversation” on TVN24 Polish MP 2050 Ryszard Petru. He also talked about proposals for new taxes. “Another tax always strikes the consumer in some way,” he assessed and showed in the studio what he thinks that the bank tax would not translate into customers.
According to Ryszard Petru, “Polish banks are most taxed in Europe.”
Ryszard Petru about bank profits and interest rates
– Every responsible president of the Central Bank at this stage should draw a path, how the feet will look in half a year, three quarters, four quarters – said Ryszard Petru. – This is what the US central bank does, as the European Central Bank does, and Glapiński specially says that he does not see the space to lower and so on – he said.
– The market and financial markets expect that interest rates will decrease by one percentage point in the second half of the year, at the very beginning. I would expect this type of approach, i.e. with a falling inflationand she will fall even because of the zloty strengthening to say if it happens: “I will cut interest rates in the perspective of the third quarter.” Such information is very much needed – he said.
“What is happening now inhibits both business, but as well as the possibilities of individual clients to take a loan for an apartment,” he said.
Ryszard Petru was asked if he talked to the subject of the Monetary Policy Council Joanna Tyrowicz, who regularly applies for interest rate increases. – I do not influence the members of the Monetary Policy Council (…) I would expect a serious approach to the inflation path from the entire monetary policy council. What is happening now, very high feet in Poland, falling in Europe, make it very profitable to buy Polish tax papers. This means strengthening the golden excess and also reduces inflation – he said.
Free amount financed from new taxes?
Ryszard Petru was also asked if he was higher tax -free amount It could be financed thanks to new taxes, e.g. digital, banking, cadastral.
– I'm against, because what is the point of raising one taxes and lowering others? The effect will be that this customer will eventually pay it. Of course, digital tax is something completely different. The rule is that there are great giants, they pay taxes elsewhere. They don't pay in Poland, and they earn us. However, another tax always strikes the consumer in some way – he said.
The leader that it was not citizens who would pay such tax, the MP made a significant gesture and emphasized that “the client always pays”.
