Iga Świątek completed the month-long treatment she received after trace amounts of trimetazidine were detected in her body. The Polish tennis player proved that the prohibited substance was contained in the melatonin she took, and the reason was contamination of the game. Hence, the punishment was only symbolic, and Światek can compete with the best again.

Of course, quite a scandal broke out around Świątek, and subsequent experts, tennis players and journalists spoke out on the matter. So far, however, we have not heard the opinion of Aryna Sabalenka, the biggest rival of the Polish representative and the current leader of the world ranking.
– People are used to exaggerated reactions before they figure something out – the player from Belarus began in an interview with “The National” regarding Świątek's case. She further decided not to leave too much room for interpretation in her statement, as she herself admitted.
– I don't want to leave any comments. I believe in clean sport and I can't add anything more, Sabalenka summed up briefly. It is rather difficult to believe that the WTA leader would accuse Świątek of cheating and consciously accepting doping.
