Only a few days have passed since Legia Warsaw coach Goncalo Feio shocked fans by showing the middle fingers and the “Kozakiewicz gesture” to fans from Denmark after the match with Brondby (1:1) in the Europa Conference League qualifiers. As it turns out, the Portuguese did not have to wait long for his imitators in the Polish Ekstraklasa.
Raphael Rossi as Goncalo Feio. Vulgar gesture towards rival fans
On Friday afternoon, Widzew Łódź defeated Radomiak Radom 3:2 in a thrilling match to open the sixth round of the PKO Ekstraklasa. The visitors finished the match with ten players, after Brazilian centre-back Raphael Rossi received a red card in stoppage time for two yellow cards.
The 34-year-old received both warnings for his discussions with referee Patryk Gryckiewicz. The first in the 53rd minute of play and the second in injury time. However, the biggest problem for the Brazilian may not be the red card itself, but his behaviour as he was leaving for the locker room.
Raphael Rossi, heading to the main stand of the Widzew stadium, showed the home fans two middle fingers. Perhaps Rossi was somehow provoked by the home fans, but even if so, it does not justify him in any way.
It is possible that Raphael Rossi's behavior will be examined. For now, however, the 34-year-old can calmly prepare for the home match against Cracovia, which will be played on August 31. This is because two yellow cards do not result in suspension in the Ekstraklasa, and Rossi has a total of three warnings this season, and only the next one will result in a one-match ban.
