Piotr Woźniak, a senator of the new left, after excluding from the parliamentary club for breaking the discipline during voting, announced that he was leaving the party. In political circles, speculations appeared about his transition to the Civic Coalition.

Senator Piotr Woźniak was excluded on Friday from the Left Club for breaking the discipline in voting regarding the health contribution for entrepreneurs. The decision was made – as the spokesman of the new left, Łukasz Michnik – “by the vast majority”.

Woźniak was the only senator of the left who voted against raising the health premium for entrepreneurs.

The senator leaves the party

On Saturday, Senator Woźniak announced on the website X about making a decision to leave the party.

“As a result of the decision of the Left Club about my exclusion from the parliamentary club, after many years of presence in the formation I decided to resign from membership in the new left. Thank you to everyone for cooperation. At the same time I wish you colleagues and colleagues from the left's left with success, strong support of their own government” – wrote the politician.

Woźniak excluded “without votes of opposition”

On Friday, the club decided to exclude Woźniak “without votes of opposition”. Appeal for the presidential veto
