The shooting began around noon American time at the campus of the University of State Florida in Tallahassee. The latest information provided by the police shows that two people were killed. They were not students. Five others were injured and stay in the hospital.

The officers detained the suspect shortly after receiving the shooting application – said the head of the university police Jason Trumbower. He added that he was hospitalized. It is not clear from the information provided by the services whether the attacker is one of these five wounded people.
The sheriff of Leon, Walter A. McNeil, said that 20-year-old Phoenix Ikner is suspected. He is the son of the deputy sheriff of Leon.
CNN, citing sources in the police, reported that three firearms were found: one at the suspect, the other in the car standing nearby and a shotgun in the building of the student union.
Students and lecturers were recommended at home. Classes were canceled until tomorrow. Over 42,000 people attend classes on the main campus.
