Almost 720,000 exceeded speeds were recorded last year by 459 speed cameras – the Chief Road Transport Inspectorate. The largest number of offenses was recorded by a speed camera in Świdnik in Podlasie.
Speed camera with the largest number of violations (21 044) is located in Świdnik (Lublin Voivodeship). Four speed cameras with another largest number of violations are in the province. Silesian: in Ruda Śląska – 10 770 violations, Wanatach – 10 284, Bieruń – 10 028 and Gliwice – 9 531.
Episode speed measurement
On the other hand, 65 devices for the section speed measurement were recorded in 2024 by 371 074 exceeding the speed limit.
OPP with the largest number of offenses is the Lower Silesian section A4 between Kostomłoty and the Wrocław angles. In 2024, the device registered 80,211 violations.
In turn, in Katowice on the section of ul. Nikodem and Józef Rency were 29,890 exceedances, in the Warsaw section of the S2 in the tunnel – 21 662. The next episodes with the largest number of offenses were in Wyszków – 20 717 and Mikołów – 17 629.
Red light entry
47 Redlight systems, i.e. monitoring vehicles at a red light, operating at the intersection, was recorded in 2024 by 60,509 such offenses. Most in Łódź (ul. A. Pushkina, ul. Rokicińska) – 6 833 I (ul. Obywatelska, al. John Paul II) – 3 229, in Krakow (Aleja Pokoju, ul. Nowohucka) – 5 041 and (ul. Księdza Józefa Tischnera, ul. Jana Brożka, ul. Zakopiańska, ul. Wadowicka) – 3 641 and in Jelenia Góra (Al, John Pawła II, ul. Grunwaldzka) – 2 641.
Redlight systems on rail and road crossings registered the most violations in Warsaw on ul. Cyrulików – 4 995, in Wrocław on Średzka Street – 4 489 and Szczecińska Street – 2 206. In Łódź Radomsko on ul. Piłsudski, where such a system has been operating since July 2024, the device recorded 587 offenses.
New speed cameras
“Currently, Canard is implementing a project to expand the speed camera system financed from the national reconstruction plan. It assumes the assembly of 70 new speed cameras, 43 segmental speed measurement systems, 10 systems recording entrance at the red light to the intersection and 5 systems recording entrances at the red light at the Red Light. ” – told the Chief Road Transport Inspectorate.
The planned project implementation date is mid -2026.
