Senator of the Civic Coalition Bogdan Klich has passed all procedures, received consent from the American side and will represent Poland in the mission in the United States – said Paweł Wroński, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday. The head of Polish diplomacy, Radosław Sikorski, recently explained that due to the president's lack of consent to the nominations of new ambassadors, diplomats will appear in foreign missions with the rank of charge d'affaires.
In September, the candidacy of Bogdan Klich, senator of the Civic Coalition and former head of the Ministry of National Defense, as the new ambassador of the Republic of Poland in USA The Sejm Foreign Affairs Committee gave a positive opinion. The president opposes this nomination Andrzej Dudawho had already announced that he would not sign it.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, informed in Octoberthat since the appointment of the new government, the president has not signed any nomination and, as a result, diplomats will go to foreign missions as charge d'affaires. Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Klich will represent Poland
On Wednesday, the spokesman for the Ministry of Diplomacy, Paweł Wroński, said that Klich had met all formal criteria and had been approved by the Sejm Foreign Affairs Committee as a candidate for the Polish ambassador to the USA. He added that the senator also received consent from the American side (to take over the post), “he has gone through all the procedures resulting from the act amended by PiS and will represent Poland.”
The spokesman also referred to critical comments about Klich's candidacy from PiS politicians. Szymon Szynkowski aka Sęk, a member of parliament from this formation, argued on Wednesday at a conference in the Sejm that Klich's critical statements about Donald Trump years ago will mean that in many places the doors will be closed to him.
– And does Mr. Szynkowski aka Sęk remember what his associates, including JD Vance, said about Donald Trump? Mr. Klich is supposed to represent Poland in the United States, not to represent the submission of some politicians to other politicians. He is supposed to take care of Poland's interests in the United States, emphasized Wroński.

PiS wants Klich's candidacy to be withdrawn
Szynkowski vel Sęk said during a press conference in the Sejm that the future presidency of Donald Trump in the US should be used to strengthen the Polish position and Polish security. As he said, Polish diplomacy must strive to take advantage of this opportunity. Meanwhile – in the MP's opinion – in the past, Klich “spoke offensively about the future president of the USA, far beyond the framework of diplomatic formulations.” In his opinion, “in many places the doors are simply closed for such a person who is supposed to represent Polish interests.”
– Therefore, a decision is urgent and absolutely necessary, which should be made today in the light of the US election results, and we appeal for the withdrawal of Bogdan Klich's candidacy for the Polish ambassador in Washington – he announced PiS MP.
