Residents of southern regions of Poland should observe the sky carefully today – say synoptics. The next hours can bring more portions of heavy rainfall. Tomasz Wasilewski, presenter of tvnmeteo.pl, talks about the details.
There is still a zone over the southern regions of the country, which separates two different air masses – hot from the south and cold from the north. Such conditions cause that in many regions it can rain abundantly today.
– This is not the end of these rainfall. They are, occur and will happen (…) I would look at the sky carefully, especially in Silesia, Podkarpacie, Lublin and Lesser Poland – says the synoptic and weather presenter Tomasz Wasilewski.
Possible more storms
According to the expert, it is very likely that – like yesterday – in the afternoon of the country there will be storm clouds that will bring spot, heavy rainfall. On Thursday, the most rain fell in Dąbrowa Tarnowska in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship (43 l/sq m) and in Świeradów-Zdrój in Lower Silesia (41 l/sq m).
– This whole zone moves very slowly and lazily to Poland (…) because it moves slowly, this accumulation of rainfall in one place is large – adds Wasilewski.
Today, first degree warnings apply in some of the Śląskie, Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie voivodships IMGW. Moderate rainfall is forecast there, strong periods. According to forecasts, it may fall from 35 to 55 l/sq m.
