Storms will approach Poland on Sunday. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued the second and third highest level warnings for storms. The message indicates that wind gusts may reach speeds of 120 kilometers per hour. Tornadoes are also possible. Heat warnings are also in effect.

Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first, second and third degree warnings.

IMWM warnings of the third degree – storms

Third, highest level warnings before stormswhich are marked in red, apply in the following voivodeships:

  • Pomeranianoutside the Człuchów district;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipoutside the following counties: Brodnica, Rypin, Lipno, Włocławek, Wloclawek.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by heavy rain with a total of 50 liters of water per square meter and wind gusts of up to 120 kilometers per hour. Hail may appear locally. Tornadoes are also possible. Warnings will be valid from 2 pm on Sunday to 3 am on Monday.

IMWM warnings of the second degree – storms

Orange storm warnings were issued in the following voivodeships:

  • West Pomeranian Voivodeshipwhere alarms will be valid from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday;
  • Pomeranian, in Człuchów County, where it will be dangerous from 2 p.m. on Sunday until 3 on Monday;
  • Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipin the western counties, where warnings will be valid from 2 p.m. on Sunday to 3 a.m. on Monday;
  • Lubuskiewhere warnings will apply from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday;
  • Greater Polandwhere the alerts will come into effect at 2pm on Sunday and expire at 3am on Monday;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipin the following counties: Brodnica, Rypin, Lipno, Włocławek, Włocławek, where warnings will be valid from 2 p.m. on Sunday to 3 a.m. on Monday;

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by very heavy rainfall of 35-45 l/m2, and wind gusts reaching speeds of up to 115 km/h. Locally, it will hail.

Second degree IMWM warnings – heat

Second degree heat warnings have been issued in the following voivodeships:

  • lubuskieoutside the north-eastern counties;
  • Lower Silesiaexcluding counties located in the south of the region;
  • Greater Polandin the southern counties;
  • Opole province;
  • Łódźin the southern counties;
  • Silesianoutside the following counties: Cieszyn, Bielsko, Bielsko-Biala and Żywiec;
  • Lesser Polandin the northern half of the region;
  • Świętokrzyskiein southern counties;
  • Lublin Provincein southern and southeastern counties;
  • Podkarpackieexcluding the southern counties.

In the above regions, maximum daytime temperatures of 31 to 35 degrees Celsius are forecast. The warnings will be valid until 8 p.m. on Sunday.

IMWM issued heat alarms for the following provinces:

The maximum temperature during the day will be 32-34 degrees C. The warnings will come into force at 10 or 11 a.m. on Sunday and will expire at 20 on the same day.
