It has been very windy in northern Spain since Thursday. On the coast itself, gusts exceeding 100 kilometers per hour were recorded.
In Estaca de Bares, the northernmost point of Spain, winds reached 102 kilometers per hour. In many places along the Atlantic, winds of up to about 90 km/h were recorded, and inland, in Galicia, Cantabria and the Basque Country, gusts of up to 80 km/h were recorded.

A weather front is passing through the Iberian Peninsula, causing severe weather conditions in other parts of Spain on Friday. Warnings for strong winds have been issued for parts of Aragon and Catalonia on the border with France and for some areas of Valencia and Belearic Islands. On the Mediterranean coast, waves can reach a height of up to six meters.
In the north of the country, it also rained heavily on Thursday, and snow fell high in the mountains.
