IMWM warns against strong winds. On New Year's Eve, level two warnings are in force in three voivodeships. Check where to be especially careful.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued second-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM warnings – strong wind
Orange warnings apply to the following voivodeships:
- West Pomeranian Voivodeshipcounties: ŚwinoujścieKamieński, Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Białogard, Koszalin, KoszalinSławno;
- Pomeraniancounties: Słupsk, SłupskLębork, Wejherowo, Puck;
- Lower Silesiacounties: Lubański, Lwówek, Karkonosze, Jelenia GóraKamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, WałbrzychKłodzko.
In the north of the country, it is expected to blow at an average speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour, with gusts up to 115 km/h, from the south-west. The strongest gusts will occur on January 1 during the day and evening.
In the region of Lower Silesia, winds will periodically blow at a speed of about 40 km/h, on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday with gusts of up to 80 km/h, during the day on Wednesday and at night from Wednesday to Thursday up to 90 km/h, and on Thursday up to 80 km/h, from the southwest and west.
The warnings will be valid until 12 noon on Thursday.
