The peace conference was important from Ukraine's point of view, but also from our point of view, because it encourages the so-called Global South and allows Ukraine to present its arguments, said Professor Katarzyna Pisarska in “Fakty po Faktach”, commenting on the summit in Switzerland. – China did not appear at this summit for a simple reason. The President of Ukraine would try to drive a kind of wedge between Moscow and Beijing, said General Jarosław Kraszewski.

The two-day summit has ended Switzerland regarding peace in Ukraine. Representatives of nearly a hundred countries and international organizations took part in it. Summit participants prepared a final declaration.

The summit was commented on by the guests of “Fakty po Faktach” – professor Katarzyna Pisarska from the Foundation. Kazimierz Pułaski and General Jarosław Kraszewski, former head of the Department of Authority over the Armed Forces at the National Security Bureau.

As Pisarska said, “the peace conference was important from Ukraine's point of view, but also from our point of view, because it encourages the so-called Global South, allows Ukraine to present its arguments, and allows us to show how devastating this war is for Ukraine, for Europe and for the whole world.”

– He bets too Vladimir Putin in a rather bad light, because his ultimatum, which we heard just before the start of the conference, was absurd and everyone who heard it understood that it was not a peace proposal at all, but de facto asking Ukraine to withdraw from Ukraine, she added.

Speaking about the lack of a Russian representative at the summit, she said that in this case, “Ukrainians are also skeptical deep in their hearts, because both they and we know that Russia will only come to the negotiating table if it loses this war.”

Kraszewski: China did not appear at this summit for a simple reason

General Kraszewski drew attention to the absence of the representative at the conference China. – China did not appear at this peace summit for a simple reason. The president of Ukraine would try to drive a kind of wedge between Moscow and Beijing and play the Chinese presence to his advantage, he said.

He also talked about the situation on the front that Ukraine is currently in. – The world will continue to supply weapons to Ukraine, the Russian offensive is starting to weaken, the Ukrainians are starting to achieve more and more spectacular successes and the united West has finally understood that after two years we are giving the Ukrainians the opportunity to fully use our weapons that have reached them – he said.

As he added, “at the beginning there was no such weapon, then it was small-calibre, then they received more and more, but with one condition – it is not allowed to shoot on the territory of the Russian Federation.”

However, he said that Ukraine was “beginning to lack personnel who qualify within the age range to be mobilized.” – In the history of this world, no war has ever been won by a professional army. These are all mobilized forces, he continued.

– Let's hope it doesn't happen that they will have a lot of weapons, even more ammunition, and there will be no one to fight – he said.

Pisarska on when “it will be decided whether Ukraine is able to maintain its borders”

Katarzyna Pirska assessed that “going into details about what the mood was at this peace conference, who said what, does not make much sense today.” – It is much more important to look at what is happening on the battlefield, it is much more important to look at what is happening in the capitals of Western countries, what is happening in the Kremlin – she continued.

– Today, all this is actually a factor that – I am convinced – during this year, by the middle of next year, will decide for good the great question of whether Ukraine is able to maintain its borders from 1991 – she added.

She also stated that the current “dynamics favor Ukraine despite great fatigue.” – It is simply difficult for people to continue this fight mentally, even if the war in many cities does not feel as drastic as some may imagine – she said.
