The websites of the Swiss federal government became the victim of a cyber attack on Wednesday – the Russian-linked hacker group NoName claimed responsibility for the action. The group cited the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the World Economic Forum as the reason for the attack.

The Swiss government announced on Wednesday that it had fallen victim to pro-Russian hackers following the president’s visit Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at the World Economic Forum in Davos. “The attack was carried out by the NoName group, which had previously attacked the federal administration in June 2023,” the Federal Office for Cybersecurity said in a press release. “This pro-Russian group cited the Ukrainian president’s participation in the World Economic Forum as the reason for the attack,” it added.

The President of Ukraine traveled to Davos on Monday. During your visit to Switzerland Zelensky met, among others, with the President of Switzerland Viola Amherd, representatives of parliament and leaders of Swiss political parties.
