A drunk patient attacked a paramedic at the Military Hospital in Szczecin with a knife. The incident occurred in June last year, on Friday the trial in this matter. He can even threaten him with life imprisonment for attempted murder.

The prosecutor's office strictly treated a patient who struck the lifeguard in June last year and attacked nurses. She charged him with attempted murder. This argues that the accused, 64-year-old Grzegorz M. directed a knife towards the lifeguard's chest. Fortunately, he failed to hit the heart. The lifeguard, after providing him with medical assistance, was on sick leave For 3 months, but he recovered and to work.

For attempted murder, in accordance with the Penal Code, he may even face life imprisonment. We will find out what punishment the prosecutor will demand in the later part of the trial, but today he described exactly what injuries this attack for the rescuer caused.

The accused does not admit

The accused did not admit to the alleged acts. Indeed, he confessed to the fact that he could struggle with a lifeguard, nurses or a bodyguard, because he thought that they did not allow him to leave the hospital, and he wanted to leave the institution, because he waited too long for help. He did not know where the knife had, he claimed that he had found him on the floor. He emphasized that he did not know what he was holding in his hand because he has poor eyesight.

The man was under the influence of alcohol. He claimed that he drank four beers, but medical examinations showed that he had 2.7 per mil of alcohol in his blood.

He came to the ward because he had fallen in front of his door before. Help was called, which brought him to the hospital. At first he behaved aggressively, he was stimulated, which is why the nurses decided to attach him to bed so that he would not pose a threat to himself and others.

The man, however, freed himself from the belts and then there was an attack on the nurse. When the lifeguard heard a scream of one of them, he ran out of another room and then the man attacked him with a knife.
