The Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz proposed on Thursday to impose a one-off tax on extraordinary profits of banks. “Such a tax could, for example, be allocated to defense,” she said.

– I think that probably the best solution is a solution that was used in many European countries (…), i.e. such a one -time tax, sometimes extended for the next year, from “Manna from Heaven”, i.e. extraordinary, excess income – said Katarzyna Pełczyńska -Nałęcz on Thursday at RMF FM.

Tax on extraordinary profits

– Such a solidarity tax on “manna from heaven” could, for example, be allocated to defense (…). Since banks use people, let people also benefit from banks – she added.
