Two people died after receiving massages in Thailand, local media report. The 20-year-old singer and a 54-year-old tourist received them in different parts of the country, but according to the authorities it is not yet clear whether the massages were related to their deaths. To determine this, an investigation has already been initiated into the young woman's death.
Singer Chayada Prao-hom, 20, died on Sunday in a hospital in the city of Udon Thani, Thai media reported. According to her family, the woman's health deteriorated after a massage session, which the 20-year-old went to to relieve pain in her neck and shoulders. A few days after the first massage, the singer wrote on Facebook that she was bedridden and felt numbness throughout her body. However, the woman still hoped that subsequent sessions would improve the situation.
On November 6, Chayada Prao-hom announced on social media that she had already visited the massage parlor three times. However, “after subsequent sessions, her condition deteriorated rather than improved,” reports the British Independent. Two weeks later, she became paralyzed and “wasn't able to lift her right arm.” “I want my story to be a warning to those who like to be massaged often. I need to recover. I want to work,” the 20-year-old wrote at the time. Despite being taken to hospital, on Sunday her condition deteriorated rapidly and the woman died.

She died after a massage in Thailand
Local media quickly reported that the woman's cause of death was complications from intense neck sprains she experienced during the massages. These twists were said to have caused a spine injury and inflammation in the cervical section, and the media also published an alleged X-ray of the woman, which allegedly showed the shift of the vertebrae.
However, the Thai authorities emphasize that the causes of the 20-year-old's death will only be determined as part of the investigation initiated on Monday. According to the representative of the Thai health service, Dr. Somchaichote Piyawatwel, quoted by the “Bangkok Post”, the direct cause of the woman's death was a blood infection. However, the police investigation will clarify “whether her death was in any way related to the massages,” he emphasized. Piyawatwela added that all masseuses working in the salon used by Prao-hom had appropriate qualifications.
Two deaths after massages in Thailand
Information about Chayada Prao-hom's death appeared a day after a 52-year-old tourist from Singapore died after a massage on the Thai island of Phuket. The man lost consciousness during a 45-minute oil massage, the “Bangkok Post” reported, citing the police.
However, the local police chief, Chalermchai Hernsawad, said that the man's wife did not consent to an autopsy and decided to transport his body to Singapore. The woman also claimed that her husband had health problems before his death, the website of Singaporean broadcaster CNA reported.
