Than Quiteria in Poland. A blast of winter weather. Up to a few centimeters of snow will fall. Where to expect rainfall

On Tuesday, Poland is in the range of the Quiteria low pressure, bringing rain, sleet and snow. As tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Damian Zdonek explained, the center of the low was in the region of Western Pomerania. In the center of the barometric system, the pressure dropped to 984 hectopascals.

Currently, the warm front zone is moving over the Królewiec Oblast, and in Pomerania and Warmia and Masuria and in the Suwałki region, sleet and wet snow gradually turn into rain. Behind the front, much warmer polar air flowed over the country, which we can see on thermometers. IN Legnica at 6 p.m. they showed 11.4 degrees Celsius, in Wrocław 10.7 degrees C, w Łódź 7.3 degrees C, and w Warsaw 5.3 degrees Celsius

– Unfortunately, this “warming” is only temporary, because another front zone is entering Poland from the west – said the forecaster. This time we will be dealing with a cold front followed by cold air of Arctic origin. Rainfall with snow is forecast in Western Pomerania and in the mountain and foothill areas of southwestern Poland. In the south of the country, wind gusts of up to 50-60 kilometers per hour are recorded, but when the front passes, the gusts may become stronger. Locally in the north and center of the country they can reach speeds of up to 60-70 km/h.

The first snowfall, as every year, took its toll on drivers who had to clear the snow from their vehicles.

– ​It's in the black, so this (snow – ed.) will soon be a mess. It will last a few hours and it will all be over – said a resident of Czarne in an interview with a TVN24 reporter. – There is some snow on the windows and it needs to be removed – he added.

The rainfall zone moving across Poland will cause… conditions on roads and sidewalks will be dangerous in many places.

– During moderate and intense wet snowfalls in northern Poland, the temperature of road surfaces and sidewalks may drop quickly, even to around 0 degrees Celsius, making the roads slippery. – emphasizes the forecaster.

Strong wind will also be an additional threat. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings in 14 voivodeships.
