The deputy director of the Eastern Europe Study emphasized that “it was negotiated many months ago.” – Theoretically, both sides are interested in this, because the Russians destroy Ukrainian energy infrastructure and Ukrainians – Russian. So it was relatively easy to show Putin with good will. Because please remember that Putin did not want to say “yes”, not wanting to go to the arms suspension, at the same time he had to give Trump any element, any surrogate of agreement. And I have the impression that these are agreements on energy infrastructure issues, this is just such a surrogate of weapon suspension. And by the way beneficial for Russia In the context of Ukrainian drone attacks – he explained.

“There is something dangerous for Ukraine in this message”

After the conversation of the leaders, both the White House and the Kremlin issued messages. The Russian side reported, among others, that “a key condition to prevent the conflict and acting towards its resolution on the political and diastatic path should be completely completed foreign military assistance and transmitting intelligence data to Kiev.”

As General Pacek assessed, “there is something dangerous for Ukraine in this message.” – Putin (…) he said: I agree, but … and said: provided that you immediately stop delivery supporting Ukraine, provided that the mobilization will stop immediately, whatever that means, I guess it is about mobilizing troops. If this is the case, then Ukraine will be in a much less favorable situation than the Russian Federation, because the Russians are all that they fight on the war table. And the Ukrainians, however, are largely addicted to the West – he noted.

Dr. Eberhardt stated that “in this respect this problem is that the United States is able to decide to suspend their own help for Ukraine.” – I think this is the pressure under which Trump was: you want peace, you want to suspend weapons, then go to such a gesture – commented the expert.

– But please remember that there is also European help. Neither Ukraine nor Europe will be interested in this type of Putin condition. A condition that the intention really is to disarm Ukraine unilaterally. Putin is interested in suspending their weapons insofar as Ukraine will not have weapons from the West, if it ceases to mobilize its soldiers. And this type of weapon suspension is really an introduction to surrender. Here it is not possible for Ukraine to accept it, 'said Eberhardt.
