ABW at no stage and in no form was involved and does not engage in the course of the election campaign – said the head of the Internal Security Agency Colonel Rafał Syrysko. Earlier on that day, PiS candidate Karol Nawrocki claimed that “institutions that help Rafał Trzaskowski were joined by the Internal Security Agency.”

“In relation to the false information provided by some media about the involvement of the Internal Security Agency in the course of the ongoing presidential campaign, I declare that – contrary to the reproduced insinuations – ABW at any stage and in no form was involved and does not engage in the course of the election campaign on the side or against any of the candidates,” we read in the statement handed over by the spokesperson Of the Ministry of Interior and Administration Jacek Dobrzyński.
As emphasized, “this information is ill by the good name of the service and agency officers.” The head of ABW declared that he was planning “taking appropriate legal steps”.
“The formulation of false allegations at the Internal Security Agency for using any materials from the ABW proceedings in the campaign is harmful to the security of the Republic of Poland, the image of the Service and in a completely unauthorized manner disavowed its activities as a state office and exposes service to the loss of social trust” – noted.
Nawrocki about the ABW
Earlier on Monday Karol Nawrockithe candidate of Law and Justice for the President, said at a press conference that “to those institutions of the Polish state that help Rafał Trzaskowski in recent days was joined by the Internal Security Agency.”
– So the regular process of destroying one of the candidates is underway. This does not destroy the candidate Karol Nawrocki, because I will survive it and win this election, it destroys the institutions of the Polish state, and this is a very worrying thing for the future of the Polish state – said Nawrocki.
Allegations from Nawrocki
Karol Nawrocki during the presidential debate organized at the end of April said he had one apartment. He assured then that he would “be a defender” of Poles before disaster (depending on the catastral value of the property, i.e. the value of the house, apartment, premises or other object – ed.). – I speak on behalf of Polish women and ordinary Poles, like me who have one apartment – he said.
Last week, Onet said that Nawrocki – contrary to declarations – is the owner of two apartments, not one. In addition to the apartment in which he lives with his family, he also has a studio apartment in Gdańsk.
On Monday, the portal said that in 2017 Jerzy Ż. – The owner of the studio at the time – he gave it to Nawrocki and his wife in exchange for care and maintenance, i.e. on the basis of a life contract. “There is no doubt that at the moment Nawrocki, Mr. Jerzy, does not look after him or help him. We determined that the man was placed in one of the State DPS in Gdańsk and it was the employees of this institution who dealt with him” – said Onet.
Even before the Monday publication of Onet, the spokeswoman for the staff of Nawrocki Emilia Wierzbicki wrote in a statement that Mr. Jerzy was a neighbor of Nawrocki, who for many years helped and that he gave the man money for the purchase of an apartment, which he promised to transfer to Nawrocki for the help provided. She argued that the candidate PIS He never lived or rented it in this apartment, he did not derive any financial benefit from him, and he pays the fee for them to this day. Mr Jerzy is still the disposer of the apartment. “Contact with Mr. Jerzy broke off in December 2024. (…) Karol Nawrocki tried to find him through neighbors and friends, but to no avail” – wrote Nawrocki spokeswoman in a statement on X.
“Currently using a studio apartment to attack Karol Nawrocki proves that special services have been involved in a dirty campaign,” she wrote in the same statement.
The entry added: “We get information that a group of people is working on it, the purpose of which is to provide information from Karol Nawrocki's personal security survey to the media.”
Nawrocki: I am the owner of an apartment according to the law, to which I do not have the keys
Nawrocki asked on Monday about how he came into possession of the aforementioned apartment, he said that he looked after “an old, sick man who for years was his neighbor.”
– Ultimately, it ended in the fact that, according to the law, I am the owner of an apartment to which I have no keys, because this man lived in this apartment, and I did not derive any financial benefits from this apartment. To this day, I pay financial fees for this apartment – explained the PiS candidate for president.
