The case of two towers. Gerald Birgfellner will testify to the prosecutor's office

Austrian entrepreneur Gerald Birgfellner arrived at the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw on Wednesday. This is another interrogation in a resumed investigation in the “two towers”. Birgfellner claims that PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński cheated him.

On Wednesday, Gerald Birgfellner will give a testimony of “two towers” at the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. The Austrian businessman has already submitted several times in 2019. In February, the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw initiated the investigation again.

One of the entrepreneurs of the entrepreneur Patron Roman Giertych before the interrogation of Birgfelller said that “the investigation should move very sharply”. – I am convinced that the evidence already indicates two possible allegations for Jarosław Kaczyński Giertych said.

He added that one issue concerns fraud and a bribe PLN 50,000, and the other is associated with a loan for EUR 300 million.

The case of “two towers”. What is it about

The case came to light in 2019. Austrian businessman Gerard Birgfellner, privately a friend of Jarosław Kaczyński, submitted a notification in the prosecutor's office, in which he informed that he did not get money for a year and a half of work preparing the investment of the Srebrna company. This company – associated with Kaczyński and other his close associates – was to build two hundred -meter skyscrapers connected together in the center of Warsaw.

In 2019, “Gazeta Wyborcza” published a transcript of the conversation with the participation of the president PIS Jarosław Kaczyński and the Austrian businessman Gerald Birgfellnyr.

According to Birgfellner, Kaczyński at the beginning of 2018 persuaded him to give 50,000 zlotys, which were to be sent to Father Rafał Sawicz, sitting on the Council of the Institute of Name Lech Kaczyńskithe owner of the Srebrna company. His signature was important because without the consent of the entire Foundation Council, the Srebrna Spółka, where two towers were to be erected in the center of Warsaw, could not formally participate in the investment.

The District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw is investigating the investment. In earlier years, a notification of a suspected crime by the PiS president was notified to the prosecutor's office, which concerned the lack of payment for the Austrian businessman submitted to the preparations for this construction. It was discontinued by the supervised by Zbigniew Ziobra prosecutor's office.

On March 12, a longtime collaborator Jarosław Kaczyński and a member of the management board of Srebrna Barbara Skrzypek were questioned. She died on Saturday, March 15. The autopsy showed that the cause of death was a vast heart attack.
