A two -year -old beaver named cauliflower escaped from the zoo in Utica, New York. The zoo authorities reported that they were using drones to look for a fugitive rodent.

Cauliflower decided to escape after just a few weeks of staying in the Zoological Garden in Utica. Although one of the employees saw him near the zoo shortly after the alarm was announced, the animal failed to capture, even though several dozen people participated in the search. “We haven't found him yet,” said Andria Heath, director of Utica Zoo. – We thought we did everything to find him. Then we realized that we could try drones – she added. The zoo concluded a contract with a local company that is to look for cauliflower from a bird's eye view.

He escaped from the zoo in search of a partner

According to specialists, Bóbr left the zoo in search of a partner. “When the rodent reaches the age of two, he usually leaves the family group to find a partner and start his own colony,” Heath explained. The station inktv News reported on Wednesday that many reports came to the zoo from people who seemed to be cauliflower. Each time, however, it turned out that it was a mistake, and the found animal is not beaver, but an American marmot.

The station reminded that marmots can be easily distinguished from beavers, taking a look at the tail. Studers of the tail is fluffy, while the beaver's tail is flat, rounded, dark and looks like it was covered with scales, although it is actually a callous epidermis forming in a pattern -like pattern.
