– We talked online on December 27. He is the face of this project, but I was in contact mainly with the president. He told me that the goal for this season is to stay in Ligue 2, and next year or in two years we should be promoted to the elite – Baltazar began.
Then, when asked about the conversation with Mbappe, the coach revealed some more details. – We focused on talking about young players because Caen has one of the best training systems in France. There is a lot of talent in the academy. We want to give these a chance football players. We also care about offensive and attractive football. This is what I care about very much – added the Portuguese.
As it turns out, Mbappe and his colleagues “bought” Baltazar from Radomiak, who really wanted to convince the coach to stay. However, the offer from Ligue 2 turned out to be much more attractive and it is not about finances. – We had a frank conversation with the president. He offered me a better, longer contract. My career goal is to work in the best leagues in the world. However, it was time to try something different and I wanted to take advantage of Caen's offer, added Baltazar.
