The European Parliament as part of voting on the resolution on strengthening the defense of the European Union adopted an amendment regarding the East shield. MEPs have been in favor of being considered a flagship project for the joint security of EU countries. EU leaders will decide whether to actually become it.

However, there is controversy about the voting of Polish European Parliamentarians, with PiS and the confederation, regarding the entire resolution. Party representatives Jarosław Kaczyński They claim that the resolution gives the European Union too many competences in the field of defense.

The head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister spoke about this matter in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 Jan Grabiec. – This scandal that happened in the European Parliament is inexplicable to me. This is stupidity rubbing on treason. This cannot be explained – he said.

– It was a resolution in which MEPs from all European countries, also Spain and Portugalwho do not feel directly threatened today by what is happening in Ukraine, they are not afraid of the effects of this war, they decided that it was necessary to invest in the Polish shield East, in the Eastern flank (NATO – ed.) – he continued.

Jan Grabiec spoke more broadly about the attitude of PiS politicians towards Russia. – In fact, where it is about armament, strengthening the safety of Poles, about the strength that we can oppose Russia and ourselves, and in NATO and in Europe, where they turn out to be against it. This is a lack of understanding that it is to be a strengthening of the East shield – he said.

– They explain that they voted for amendment, but against the entire resolution, which just wants to strengthen the east shield. This is of course absurd, because without this resolution there would be no position of the European Parliament, there would be no clear voice that Polish security must also be strengthened. And the fact that they lie in this matter is that they say that there is some supervision over Polish armythis is complete fiction. Anyone who enters the European Parliament website can see. There is no word about supervision over the Polish army – he pointed out.

The head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister also said that “even in NATO, no one can decide that Polish soldiers would be sent to a foreign mission without Poland's decision in this matter.” “Especially in Europe,” he added. In his opinion, “these are arguments that we can hear on Moscow television.” “PiS begins to speak with Putin,” said TVN24.

The head of the prime minister's office was also asked whether he could confirm unofficial information, provided, among others, by the Gazeta.pl portal that between the president Andrzej Duda and the minister of foreign affairs Radosław Sikorski A specific contract may be reached in the dispute over months of ambassadors. The president would agree to candidates for ambassadors in Australia, Serbia, Slovenia and a permanent representation at the EU. In such a variant, the president would be willing to accept Bogdan Klich as a representative of Poland at the UN in New York. Klich currently manages the embassy in Washington as Chargé d'Affaires. In this scenario, the current representative of the UN Krzysztof Szczerskiformerly a close associate of Duda in the KPRP, would move to Washington and take the function of an ambassador in the USA.

– I do not want to talk about the details, because here Minister Sikorski is responsible for this policy. He will probably talk about it himself. We have long asked the President that he would cooperate with the government in this respect, according to the Constitution – said Grabiec.

When asked if the government would agree to change positions for Klich, he replied: – No, there are no such conversations at the moment. Minister Sikorski will announce the decision about who will be the ambassador. Today, Bogdan Klich performs the mission entrusted to him by the Polish government, represents Poland in the United States.

Grabiec was also asked if he was preparing for military training, announced in recent days by the Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The head of government said that consultations are underway regarding the introduction of “universal, voluntary” large -scale military training.

“Of course, yes,” he replied. – Even regardless of the campaign recently announced by the premiere, we have been preparing in the prime minister's office for several months to ensure that as part of training conducted this year, including training at training grounds related to shooting, they concerned employees of the prime minister's office – he said.
