The attack of winter in parts of the USA continues. Heavy frost affected, among others, the southeastern regions of Michigan. It was so cold that staying outside became very dangerous to health and life. At least 12 people died.

A water main burst in the city of Dearborn Heights on Monday. Water poured onto the street where cars were parked. Two vehicles were almost completely covered with a very thick layer of ice.

One of the residents, Cheryl Fritz, went on a trip with her two grandchildren to Nashville, Tennessee. They left their cars in front of her house. When they returned, a considerable and unpleasant surprise awaited them. It was necessary to call for help. The woman was asked by a reporter from an American television station if she had ever seen such icy cars before.

– Not like that. Have you seen it? – she said.

Paul Vanderplow of the Dearborn Heights Mayor's Office said Department of Public Works workers have been working hard for several days to free cars from the ice trap. The next step is to tow the vehicles and transport them to a place where they can return to their normal condition.

“We will dig them out and work with our towing company to heat them, thaw them and return them to the residents. That's why the mayor has been so adamant about modernizing our infrastructure and water system, Vanderplow said.
