What is it about: January 16, 2024 in Chełm, al. The first city gas station was opened at Armii Krajowej 4, which is self-service and open 24 hours a day. The Municipal Utilities Enterprise (MPGK) is responsible for it. Total the investment cost amounted to PLN 3,900,000 net – “it included design work, construction work, including three new connections, inventory and modernization of the technological part,” the local government reported.
Station purpose: As the city office informed, “the key objective of the station's activity is stimulating the competitiveness of the local fuel market and offering them at attractive prices prices” It was also assumed that the creation of the station would affect commercial sellers and result in a reduction prices at the refueling points they manage.
President's comment: Nearly a year after the opening of the point, the president of Chełm commented on the station's current activities. “Effect? A drop in fuel prices for everyone by 20/30 cents. The cheapest fuel in Chełm, and the station itself is noted twice as much income as the business plan assumed” – Jakub Banaszek reported on X on January 2 this year. He also added that the tender for the supply of fuel was won by a private supplier. “Chełm was definitely more expensive than in most Polish cities. Residents appealed for this. A year has passed that did not end in a disaster for the local market,” the politician wrote.
Available fuels: At the city station, residents of Chełm can buy diesel oil ON (B7), diesel oil without bio additives ON Plus (B0), unleaded petrol Pb 95 (E10) and unleaded petrol Pb 98 (E5).
