On Thursday afternoon, a press conference of the city authorities took place in the Gdynia magistrate in connection with a heating failure, which occurred on Tuesday night to Wednesday. As a result, the inhabitants of several Gdynia districts were deprived of hot water and heating.

President of Gdynia Aleksandra Kosiorek said that, according to the city's estimates, the problem currently affects about 10 percent of the inhabitants.

“So many people at the moment remains without heat. All the failures we had so far were parallel failures. They were removed, except one. At this point, OPEC removes the failure located in the area of ​​ul. Nałkowska” – explained Kosiorek and added that warmth It has already returned to the inhabitants of the Pogórze, the Cisowski Pads and parts of Karwin.

The President of Gdynia pointed out that the Municipal Social Welfare Center in Gdynia contacted dependent residents. “Three people asked for additional care and such care was taken,” she said.

She assured that in districts without heating (parts of Karwin, Fikakowo housing estate in Wielki Kack and Dąbrowa) there are city guard patrols. The Municipal Crisis Management Center also operates around the clock. In addition, the city has launched a budget reserve to buy heaters and oil stoves.

Due to failures in some Gdynia schools, classes were canceled on Wednesday. On Thursday, the president of Gdynia said that all school and kindergarten institutions are now open.

“There are several facilities that will perform only care functions on Friday. We are in current contact with the principals. All schools affected by temporary heating difficulties have been notified by us today that they can count on the support of the City Hall, and one school additionally asked for Heater, “Kosiorek said.

A failure on heating and water supply lines in Gdynia took place on Tuesday night on Wednesday and Wednesday morning. At the beginning, deprived of hot water and heating, were the inhabitants of the Cisowski Pustków, Karwin, Witomin, Chwarzna-Wiczlina, Mały and the Great Kack, Dąbrowa and Pogórze. On the other hand, the inhabitants of the Babich Doły, Oksywie, part of Obłęża and Pogórze (in the municipality of Kosakowo) did not have water. The water supply failure was repaired on Wednesday afternoon.
