The American resolution on war in Ukraine, which does not contain condemnation or even mention of Russia's attack, was adopted by the UN Security Council. 10 countries, and five European countries voted for it – including France and the United Kingdom having the right of veto – abstained.

The resolution is a short text that expressed only regret because of the “tragic loss of life in the conflict of the Russian Federation with Ukraine”, does not contain the condemnation of Russian invasion and repeats that the main goal UN is to maintain international peace and security and peaceful dispute resolution. Contains only three paragraphs, calling for a lasting room between Russia and Ukraine And to quickly end the conflict.

Temporary representative USA At the UN Dorothy Camille Shea claimed that the resolution is not a “peace agreement” but “the path leading to the room”.

Russia at the same time vetoed European corrections changing the “Russian-Ukrainian war” to the “full-glass invasion of the Russian Federation to Ukraine”, and also expressed support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and just peace. These corrections were lost because of the fact that one of them obtained support 11 out of 15 countries.

Russian ambassador Vasily Błownzia praised the American initiative – using often used by Donald Trump words – as “common sense proposal” and a step in the right direction. He also reported amendments to ensure that the text of the resolution took into account “the need to eliminate the basic causes of the conflict”. Russian corrections were rejected because only Russia voted for them.

This is the first resolution adopted by the Security Council about Ukraine from the beginning of the Russian full -scale invasion.
