“We must be prepared for the so -called second round”

He emphasized that “Analyzes after yesterday's decision of President Trump are still ongoing.” – Our preliminary estimates say about the impact on Polish GDP in the order of 0.4 percent – he said. He noted that it was about reduction of GDP value by such percentage.

He also talked about what a decrease may result from. – We just sell less to Americans, we will sell less Germanywho, in turn, export more to the United States, or French or Italy – pointed out Domański.

He also noted that “if even higher duties are applied to the Chinese economy”, “products that are produced in China will become much, much more expensive on the American market.” – It is natural that the producers will be looking for new markets – said TVN24.

According to him, “we must be prepared for the so -called second round.” – That is, that those countries that have been touched more strongly by the duties announced yesterday by President Trump will look for other markets. This, in turn, can (…) make inflation in some markets less than if such duties were not introduced – he explained.

– Nevertheless, in this global approach, unfortunately the effects are certainly negative – the head of the Ministry of Finance pointed out.

He added that on Monday the Council of EU ministers responsible for the community's trade policy will gather in Brussels, so “these works are really very intense now.”

“Until the end of the year, energy prices for households will not rise”

Domański also talked about internal Polish matters. He declared that “by the end of the year, energy prices for households would not increase.” He emphasized that prices on “Energy Exchange are falling this year”. – at the moment Energy price With delivery for 2026 it is about PLN 416 (it was – ed.) About PLN 440 at the end of last year. We see these declines – said the minister.

According to Domański, this is due to the fact that the government has accelerated the energy transformation. – In the history of Poland, so little energy has been made of coal. We have more renewable sources that are the cheapest (…), we implement the program to build Polish nuclear energy – he said.

When asked if he sees the space on interest rate reductionhe replied that as the Minister of Finance, he “does not comment on the decision of the Monetary Policy Council and the National Bank of Poland.” – We care about this independence and the Minister of Finance cannot do it – he noted.

– On the other hand, it is obvious and visible that, first of all, inflation in Poland has clearly dropped compared to (this in the time – editor's note) PiS's rule – he added. As he said, base inflation (inflation after switching off food and energy prices) also falls, to which the Monetary Policy Council draws attention.

– We know what the consequences of lower interest rates are – it's easier to invest. Lower interest rates are good for the economy, they are good for households that pay off loans or plan to take new loans (…). Of course, as the Minister of Finance, I am glad that President Glapiński is making such a pigeon today – he said, referring to the Thursday opinion of the President of NBP Adam Glapiński, that in the near future there may be a space to reduce interest rates.

The head of the Ministry of Finance was also asked if there was already an agreement with the Minister of Health Izabela Leszczyna regarding the reduction of the health premium. Hazel was against such activities. – First, the need for such a serious reduction in the health premium is due to the fact that PiS in Polish Ład He raised her radically for Polish entrepreneurs. This is the first point – said Domański. – The second point is (…) that the lower health premium will not affect the NFZ budget in any way – he continued.

When asked if the premium will eventually be lower, he replied: – I do everything to make it.
