1. Romanowski renounced his status as a professional MP
Marcin Romanowski announced that he “renounced the status of a professional MP” and therefore will not receive parliamentary remuneration.

2. The military prevents the arrest of the suspended president
A unit of the South Korean army is preventing investigators from arresting the country's suspended president Jun Suk Jeol, the South Korean Yonhap news agency reported.
The arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday by a court in Seoul in connection with the president's imposition of martial law in early December.
3. “Surreal” event in Germany
German police are investigating the case of a man who stole an excavator in the southern part of the country and then rammed cars and damaged buildings for almost an hour.
The excavator stopped only after officers fired at it. The man died on the spot, according to the police.
4. Bodnar received a report on the prosecutor's office proceedings during Ziobro's rule
A special team of the National Prosecutor's Office sent it to the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar an audit report of two hundred proceedings that were conducted when he ruled the Ministry of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro and his subordinates.
In many of them, prosecutors from the team found irregularities in the handling of these cases by their then clerks. TVN24 reporters learned about several matters concerning which the team had reservations.

5. Charges for a soldier who used a weapon under the influence of alcohol
Nearly 70 shots were fired by a soldier who shot at a civilian car in Mielnik (Podlaskie Voivodeship) on New Year's Day. There was a man inside, and previously his 13-year-old daughter. It's a miracle nothing happened to them.
The soldier was drunk. He was charged with attempted murder and getting drunk before duty. He claims that he did not shoot to kill. His excuse was that he was relieving himself from the hardships of serving on the border. Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that the soldier would be “immediately dismissed from service.”
6. Official inauguration of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union
At 8 p.m., the official inauguration of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union will take place at the Grand Theater-National Opera in Warsaw. At the beginning of the ceremony, the Prime Minister will speak Donald Tusk and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa.
The Polish presidency began at the beginning of January and will last until the end of June. During this time, our country will be responsible, among others, for: for setting the agenda of meetings of individual Council bodies and conducting negotiations among member states.
