On Thursday, the entire Legia Warsaw environment enjoyed promotion to the quarter -finals of the European Conference League after defeating Molde FK. A few days later, specifically on Monday, March 17, the capital's club and his fans plunged into mourning.
Maciej Szewczyk is dead. “A man who simply and extremely loved people”
On this day, Legia in social media gave information about the death of Maciej Szewczyk, who since 2010 was the B2B business sales director in Legia Warsaw SA at the mentioned position he was involved in the management, sales and organization of business events at the stadium of the Warsaw club.
At the same time, he was his avid fan and an important figure. “With great regret we accepted the news of the death of Maciej Szewczyk. Maciek was a longtime employee of Legia Warsaw, a person with a big heart and devotion for the club, a wonderful and kind friend, whom we could always count on” – we read in the message on Platform X.
“His departure is a great loss for all of us. Family and loved ones we submit the most sincere condolences. The management and employees of Legia Warsaw” – added. Well -known journalists also said goodbye to the deceased. “I don't believe, we saw each other on Thursday … Let him rest in peace” – wrote Sebastian Staszewski from “Przegląd Sportowy”.

On Thursday after the match and promotion of Legia to the quarter -finals (conference league – editor's note) he was in euphoria and we celebrated his birthday at the stadium. Several dozen hours later he left us. Compassion for a spouse and the whole family” – added Mateusz Borek.
