A trial has started on the Greek island of Kos regarding the rape and murder of a 27-year-old Polish woman. MEPs of the Civic Coalition presented fragments of an anonymous study on the past of PiS presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki. Former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro appeared at a press conference in front of the Prime Minister's office. Here are five things to know on Tuesday, December 3.
1. The trial of the accused of murdering a Polish woman in Kos has started
A trial has started on the Greek island of Kos regarding the rape and murder of a 27-year-old Polish woman in 2023. The suspect, a 33-year-old man from… Bangladeshpleads not guilty. The trial started with reluctance because some of its participants received the case files only on December 2.
2. Report on Nawrocki's “dangerous relationships”.
MEPs of the Civic Coalition Dariusz Joński and Michał Szczerba presented fragments of an anonymous study about the candidate's past PIS Karol Nawrockiwhich suggests his connections with the criminal and neo-Nazi environment.
– We are sending an inquiry to the prosecutor general. We will ask the question whether in investigations concerning these criminal groups or those people who are the subject of a characterization prepared for Jarosław KaczyńskiKarol Nawrocki appears in some procedural role – they announced. Nawrocki himself called the report a “deep manipulation” that is a combination of “truths, half-truths and complete lies.”

3. Ziobro made a public appearance
Former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro appeared on Monday at a press conference in front of the Prime Minister's office. He was accompanied by PiS politicians.
This is Ziobro's first public appearance in a long time. The former Minister of Justice struggled with illness.

4. The Prime Minister responds to roadblocks
Prime Minister Donald Tusk spoke about road blockades organized by climate activists. For a week, the Last Generation has been organizing blockades of Wisłostrada in Warsaw.
The Prime Minister said that he called on “the services to react decisively and counteract such actions.” “We will not be intimidated,” the organization replied.
5. Georgians continue to protest
Monday was another day of protests against the government's decision announced last week to suspend membership talks with the European Union Georgia.
Late in the evening, officers of the Georgian security forces entered the square in front of the parliament from three sides – from Freedom Square and two nearby streets. Before the pacification began, warning sirens were heard calling on protesters to disperse.
