Ukrainian services detained an official suspected of helping people escape from military mobilization. “Law enforcement officers found money in almost every corner of the apartment: in cabinets, drawers, nooks,” the report said.
The Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) announced on Friday that it had confiscated the equivalent of almost 5 million euros in cash from an official suspected of helping people escape from military mobilization.
DBR reported that a large amount of cash in various currencies, as well as jewelry and other valuable items were found in the apartment of the head of the medical commission of the Khmelnytsky Oblast, responsible for assessing the suitability of men for military service, and in her office.

As DBR spokesman Oleh Slobodian said, she was arrested along with her son, who is the director of the regional branch of the state pension fund.
False documents in the office, money in the apartment
In the clerk's office, investigators also discovered false documents confirming disability and fictitious medical diagnoses. According to DBR, the suspects also have over two million euros in bank accounts abroad and real estate in UkraineIn Austria, Spain and Turkey.

According to investigators, both detained people are suspected of large-scale fraud, “legalization of criminally obtained property” and illegal enrichment, for which they face up to 12 years in prison and “confiscation of all property.”
In turn, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced on Friday that it had dismantled a 13-person criminal group in Kharkov in northeastern Ukraine, which helped over 400 men avoid mobilization on the basis of false documents confirming disabilities.
This group included the head of the city's medical board and several of his subordinates, who offered their services for “$2,000-$5,000” per person.
