Similar information was provided by the Glavred portal, citing local sources. “According to unofficial information, Farion is alive but in very serious condition” – we read in the article. The woman was shot in the head.
Lviv police reported an “attack on the life of a public figure.” Lviv City Council Deputy Chairman Igor Zinkevich said he had confirmed the information that Farion was in “serious condition.”
Iryna Farion. Who is she?
Farion was until recently lecturer at the Lviv Polytechnic Universityand in the past a deputy to the Verkhovna Rada Ukrainy.
She was a member of parliament for the conservative-nationalist party All-Ukrainian Association “Svoboda”. In the times of the USSR it belonged to Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
As a deputy, she stressed the importance of the Ukrainian language and opposed legal proposals that would introduce official bilingualism in regions of Ukraine where the ethnic minority population exceeds 10 percent.

She also assessed that soldiers who speak Russian do not respect the law, because the language of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is Ukrainian.
