Ukrainian diplomacy: we reject manipulative statements
“We reject these biased and manipulative statements. Such statements show that the Polish politician puts economic considerations ahead of the strategic interests of his own country's security, good-neighborly Ukrainian-Polish relations and common values of freedom, democracy and justice,” announced Ukrainian diplomacy.
The comment recalled that Ukraine and Poland were conducting a “constructive dialogue between authorized bodies on the historical past.” “This work is intended to honor the memory of Ukrainians in Poland and Poles in Ukraine. Once again, we appeal to Polish politicians not to use the topic of difficult pages of the historical past in their internal political struggle,” it was emphasized.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kiev noted that “Nawrocki's statements were met with applause in the Kremlin.”
“It is worth recalling that Russia has been trying to destroy the Ukrainian and Polish states for centuries. Moscow continues to invest huge resources in attempts to destroy Ukrainian-Polish friendship and mutual understanding. It is unacceptable to make statements that contribute to these hostile efforts,” the statement said.
It also noted that Ukraine and its citizens are grateful to the Polish authorities and society for their “sincere and large-scale assistance in counteracting Russian aggression.”
“With this assistance, Ukraine is defending not only itself, but also our entire region and all of Europe against the aggressive and expansionist regime in Moscow. Regardless of the statements of the Polish politician, the reality is that Ukraine is de facto and will become de jure part of the Euro-Atlantic family nations and a common European security architecture,” we read in the commentary of Ukrainian diplomacy.
Nawrocki: I don't see Ukraine in any structure
On Wednesday in Polsat News, when asked whether he saw Ukraine in NATO, Nawrocki replied that he had a firm opinion on this issue and had already expressed it as president Institute of National Remembrance – it is related to the issue of the Volhynian crime.
– As of today, I do not see Ukraine in any structure, neither in the European Union nor in NATO, until civilizational issues that are so important for Poles are resolved, said the presidential candidate. He added that “a country that is unable to account for a very brutal crime against 120,000 of its neighbors cannot be part of international alliances” and that “dodges again and again.”
