On Saturday evening FC Barcelona wanted to use the sensational slip -up of Real Madrid, which a few hours earlier lost to Santiago Bernabeu with Valencia 1: 2. In the event of victory over Real Betis, Hansi Flick's band could increase the advantage in the league table over the “royal” to as many as six points. Except that Barca had to remember that Betis was in great shape – the team of Manuel Pellegrini before coming to Barcelona won as many as the last six league matches and were built with Sevilla's derby with Sevilla FC 2: 1.
Nine wins in a row and the end. Barcelona only partly used Real's failure
In the first composition of FC Barcelona there was a place for two Poles – Wojciech Szczęsny and Robert Lewandowski. Interestingly, however, Real Betis Manuel Pellegrini coach decided to have five changes to derby winnings, mentioning 3/4 of the defensive line. In addition, in Betis he could not play suspended for Isco cards, and on Thursday the team from Seville will face the Polish champion Jagiellonia Białystok in the first quarter -final match of the conference league.
It was enough for barely several dozen seconds of this competition, so that Barca would receive a big warning from her rival. All because already in the second minute Cucho Hernandez received the ball in a clean position. Betis's attacker even passed Wojciech Szczęsny, but from an acute angle he hit the bar, and in addition it also turned out that he was on a burnt.
Barcelona quickly reacted to it and went down to attack. In the sixth minute, a really good shot from Pedri's 20 films was reflected in the corner of Adrian.
A moment later, in the 7th minute, it was already 1: 0 for the hosts, when after a great pass from the first ball of Ferran Torres, the situation “Sam on the same” with Adrian used Gavi's flat hit. Barcelona's young midfielder did not celebrate this hit too much, because as a child he took his first football steps in Betis.
The opening of the result by Barcelona did not break her rival. Antony was very active, who launched subsequent counterattacks from Seville. After one of them, Cucho Hernandez hit 20 meters. In the 17th minute, Antony, in turn, won a corner kick for Betis, until he returned after a long break to the initial composition of Los Verdiblancos Giovani Lo Celsco crossed the ball perfectly on Natan's head and the Brazilian guest stopping, surprised Wojciech Szczęsny from a few meters, leading to equalization.
FC Barcelona had considerable problems with breaking the defense of the team from Seville. The best situation before the break had Ferran Torres, who in the 29th minute received the ball for the fifth meter after the flat cross of Alejandro Balde, but he was unable to hit the goal of Los Verdiblancos.
In the end of the first half, Lamine Yamal had his double chance, whose first shot from 10 meters was defended by Adrian, and the amendment was blocked. Thanks to this, it was 1: 1 until the break on Montjuic.
In the second half, Betis created the first actions, but you had to wait ten minutes for a dangerous situation and it was by FC Barcelona. After the excellent passage of Pedri, Jules Kounde deceived his opponent in the penalty area and stood “face to face” with Adrian, losing the duel with the Betis goalkeeper. Gavi and reserve shots in this Raphinhi match in turn, in turn, were the goal of visitors by centimeters.
Barcelona had great problems with breaking the well -organized defense Real Betis. Raphinh tried his head and a free luck of happiness, but once he struck heavenly, and at other times he shot exactly where Adrian stood.
At the very end, the hit from the sharp corner of Fermin Lopez was reflected in Adrian, AIW 88. Wojciech Szczęsny had to demonstrate, defending the shot from a long distance by Natan.
However, the result has not changed anymore. FC Barcelona only partly used the stumble of Real Madrid. Drawing with Real, Betis 1: 1 increased the advantage over the “royal” one eye, to four points. Betis, in turn, showed before the Thursday match with Jagiellonia Białystok in the conference league that he is in a very high form and, as Adam Nawałka said, both on the defensive and offensive.
