UOKiK has suspicions: The office informed that he had obtained information indicating the possibility of concluding anti -competitive agreement by Electrolux Poland with distributors of its products, leading, among others Large stores with electronic equipment and household appliances. Suspicions concern unauthorized price determination Electrolux and AEG products, such as vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, irons, coffee machines and kettles. “As a result of suspected actions, consumers could be deprived of the opportunity to buy these equipment at lower prices, both in stationary and online stores,” we read.
What penalty for limiting competition? UOKiK points out that the explanatory proceedings are conducted in the case, not against specific entrepreneurs. If the collected material confirms suspicions, the President of the Office begins the antitrust proceedings and charges with specific entities. There is a financial penalty in the amount of participation in the agreement limiting the competition up to 10 percent rotation entrepreneurs. In turn, the managers responsible for the collusion are threatened with a financial penalty in the amount of up to PLN 2 million.
