Since October 1, parents have submitted nearly 270,000 applications for benefits from the Active Parent program, informed the Social Insurance Institution. The most popular benefit is Active in the nursery, for which almost 137,000 people applied.
On October 1, the recruitment of applications for the Active Parent program began, which includes three benefits for parents of children aged 12 to 35 months. – Applications can be submitted to ZUS only online. The first payments from the program are planned at the turn of November and December – noted Wojciech Dąbrówka, ZUS spokesman.
Parents of children aged one to three years can apply for one of three benefits from the Active Parent program: Active parents at work, Active parents at nursery and Active parents at home.
ZUS data shows that during the first week, the most popular benefit was Actively in the nursery. 136.8 thousand applications were submitted for this type of support. applications for 139 thousand kids. The Active parents at work benefit received PLN 70,000. applications for 71.2 thousand children, and on Actively at Home – 62.3 thousand. applications for 63.3 thousand kids.
Application for benefits from the Active Parent program
A parent can apply for the benefit only online. There are four application channels: the PUE ZUS platform (eZUS), the mZUS mobile application, electronic banking and the Emp@tia portal of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy.
According to ZUS, the most popular channel is PUE ZUS – 197.8 thousand. applications, which gives 73.5 percent. impact of all applications. 23.1 thousand were submitted in the ZUS mobile application. applications, which gives 8.6 percent receipt of all applications, by banks – 43.1 thousand applications, which gives 16 percent receipt of all applications, and via the Empatia portal of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy – 5.1 thousand applications, which gives 1.9 percent impact of all applications.
Under the program, parents can use only one benefit per child in a given month, but they can change the type of support many times during the program.
Active parents at work
Benefit Active parents at work (so-called grandmother's) has an activating character. It is granted if both parents are professionally active and, due to this activity, are subject to retirement and disability insurance from a base whose total amount, i.e. both parents, will be no less than 100%. minimum wage.
At the same time, the Act specifies the minimum threshold of professional activity for each parent – the basis from which pension and disability insurance contributions are paid for each of them cannot be lower than 50%. minimum wage or 30 percent in the case of people running non-agricultural businesses business activities benefiting from preferential reductions in contributions.
In the case of a parent raising a child alone, there is no requirement for the other parent to be professionally active. However, it is subject to the requirement of professional activity with the basis of pension and disability pension contributions not lower than 100%. minimum wage.
The benefit is PLN 1,500 per month for a child aged 12 months to 35 months or PLN 1,900 if the child has an appropriate disability certificate. Parents will be able to decide what they will spend the money on.
Actively at nursery and Actively at home
Second benefit – Actively in the nursery – replaces the current subsidy of up to PLN 400 for the stay in care institutions for children up to three years of age. The benefit will be addressed to parents of children who use a nursery, children's club or day care provider.
The support will amount to up to PLN 1,500 per month per child or up to PLN 1,900 per month for a disabled child. The benefit does not cover the cost of meals.
Third benefit – Actively at home – will be granted on the same terms as the currently functioning family care capital. A new feature will be the possibility of obtaining money for each child – including the first and only child – aged 12 to 35 months. The benefit will amount to PLN 500 per month for two years.
In this case, parents must make a choice whether they keep the so-called acquired rights to family care capital, which is paid from the second child, whether they want to use the Actively at home benefit.
