The most profitable profession during the Christmas period is Santa Claus, who can earn from PLN 31 to PLN 250 per hour – informs Personnel Service, which examined earnings in Christmas professions. Santa Clauses will earn more at corporate events and less at shopping malls.
The leader in the ranking of Christmas professions is Santa Claus – according to an analysis by Personnel Service, an employee recruitment company. You can earn from PLN 31 to PLN 250 per hour of work.
“The rates for Santa Clauses are higher when they work at company Christmas parties and home gatherings, and they will earn less in shopping malls,” it was reported. However, Personnel Service data shows that the female equivalent of Santa Claus, i.e. Snowflake, will earn much less – from PLN 23.5 to PLN 35.
Ranking of Christmas competitions
The company said that this year there are as many job offers during the holiday season as in 2023, and this year's rates have increased by at least 8%. “The easiest way to find employment is in logistics, selling Christmas products, gift wrapping or promotion,” it was explained.
According to the ranking of Christmas professions, after Santa Claus, couriers and drivers took the next places. The demand for their services increases especially just before Christmas. During the holiday season, they can expect a rate from PLN 24.50 to PLN 55 per hour.
Personnel Service said the rates offered to Christmas tree sellers and carp sellers were “quite attractive” during the holiday season. The lower brackets for both professions are the same – PLN 24.1 net per hour, while a carp seller in the upper bracket can earn slightly more, PLN 40 compared to PLN 35 net for a Christmas tree seller.
“Often, the owners of this type of sales outlets do not increase the offered rate seasonally, but at the end of the Christmas boom they pay bonuses that significantly increase the salary,” it was emphasized.
Remuneration depends on the amount of work
The authors of the study added that employees producing Christmas baubles and decorations, who can earn from PLN 22.7 to PLN 31 net per hour of work, were further in the ranking. However, it was noted that in these cases the remuneration depends on the workload.
Personnel Service added that increased traffic in restaurants also generates a growing demand for the services of waiters and kitchen staff. The rate for a waiter ranges from PLN 24 to PLN 28.5 net per hour, although there are also tips. However, a kitchen help can expect PLN 22.7 to PLN 24.5 net per hour.
It was also noted that gift wrapping points are increasingly available in shopping malls. The employee who does this is at the bottom of the Christmas job rankings. He can count on a salary of PLN 22.7 to PLN 24.1 net per hour.
