When the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 was repealed in 2018, it opened the door for online gambling in the United States. This was related to sports betting and we have seen some of the biggest names in US gambling make the move online with their sportsbooks. Some already offered online casinos and New Jersey was one of the first to legalize online casino gaming in 2013. Continue below as we highlight some of the US Gambling giants now offering their services online.

Americans have always been sports and gambling mad. You only have to look at the Super Bowl to see just how much football means to the fans. As more states open the doors to sports betting, these are the big names that are getting in on the action.

MGM

MGM Resorts International was founded in 1986 and now has multiple hospitality and entertainment resorts in the United States. The resort and casino in Las Vegas, known as the MGM Grand is perhaps the most popular but there are other MGM resorts across the United States. Following the ruling by the Supreme Court to strike down the PASPA sports betting ban in 2018, MGM acted quickly to link up with Entain and create an online gambling platform.

Known as BetMGM, the website is available in several US states where it is legal to either bet on sport or play casino games, including New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, New York, and West Virginia to name but a few. It is worth noting, the online casino section of the BetMGM website is only available in some states.

Caesars Entertainment

When Caesars Entertainment was formed 1996, it was known as Eldorado Resorts but the name changed following a merger in 2019. Caesars Entertainment owns over 30 hotels and casinos across the United States, including Nevada, Ohio, Indiana, Colorado, Iowa, Florida, and New Jersey. In terms of their online offering, Caesars have both an online sportsbook and casino with people in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, and the district of Columbia having access to the website.

At the time of writing, the Caesars online casino is only available in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, but the sportsbook is available in all the states listed above. Such is the competition in the online gambling world, online casinos are having to offer incredible sign up bonuses to tempt new players, such as $10 free play at Caesars online casino. This bonus means you do not have to deposit any of your own money to enjoy playing the games at Caesars online casino, you can try them for free having created a new account. You can also claim a matched deposit bonus which means you can double the amount you have to bet when making a first deposit at Caesars.

Golden Nugget

Golden Nugget is a further example of a land based gambling giant moving online in the United States. The Golden Nugget Las Vegas opened in 1946 and it is one of the oldest casinos in Las Vegas. The casino has featured in many films, including Viva Las Vegas starring Elvis Presley, Diamonds are Forever with Sean Connery as James Bond, and in the poker mockumentary The Grand.

In June 1985, the Golden Nugget hotel and casino opened in Atlantic City and is the complete package of hotel, casino, sportsbook, and marina. Having moved online in 2013, Golden Nugget had a slow start in the industry but is now one of the leading US gambling giants to have an online presence. Available in New Jersey, Michigan, and West Virginia, Golden Nugget boasts over 1,000 games in addition to sports betting. You will also find a generous welcome bonus when creating a new account.

MGM, Caesars Entertainment, and Golden Nugget are three of the biggest names in American gambling history. They offer traditional land based casinos but have also opened online betting websites with some great offers.
