Around 3 am, an unknown man entered the home of Jake Sullivan, the US President’s national security adviser, the Washington Post reports, citing two people informed about the incident. According to them, the intruder left the property before Secret Service agents became aware of his presence. An investigation has been launched into the incident, which allegedly happened at the end of April.

In the middle of the night in April, a man barged into the home of adviser Joe Biden in Washington’s West End. The Washington Post reported that the intruder appeared to be intoxicated and disoriented. There is no evidence that this individual knew Jake Sullivan or intended to harm him.

The intruder in the house of the presidential adviser, the Secret Service did not notice

As of 2021, the U.S. President’s National Security Advisor has 24/7 protection from the Secret Service. The Washington Post, however, writes that agents protecting Sullivan were unaware of the incident. It was only when the man left the house that the presidential adviser informed them about it, according to “WP” informants.

The daily emphasizes that, as a rule, anyone who would trespass on the property of a person protected by the Secret Service should be detained and interrogated. However, this did not happen in this case. The person who showed up at Sullivan’s home left before the agents found out about the incident.

Although Biden’s adviser escaped the incident unscathed, the case caused concern among US officials, reports “WP”. The White House has so far declined to comment on the matter.

An investigation has been launched. “We take this matter very seriously”

The Secret Service said it had launched an investigation into how the intruder managed to enter the official’s home undetected by agents. The agency said in a statement that the incident at Biden’s estate “is of grave concern.”

“Although the person being protected (Jake Sullivan – ed.) was not injured, we take this matter very seriously. We have launched a comprehensive investigation into this matter to analyze all aspects of what happened,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said. “Any deviation from our protocols is unacceptable and if detected, agents will be held accountable,” he added.

Guglielmi reported that the Secret Service has implemented additional security measures to protect Sullivan and his home pending the conclusion of the investigation.
