On Saturday, opponents of Elon Musk gathered again in front of Tesla salons in the USA to express his opposition to his actions in the American administration. The purpose of the “Tesla Takedown” campaign is also to further weaken the sale of cars produced by the billionaire.
The AP agency informs that the protesters strive to tighten the actions aimed at Tesla showrooms and vehicles, expressing opposition to the role of Musk as the head of the newly created government efficiency department (Doge). As part of this function, he gained access to confidential data and liquidated entire agencies, implementing the policy of cutting government expenditure and mass dismissals of employees.
Although the Saturday demonstration was not the first action of this type, the organizers of the “Tesla Takedown” initiative sought to cover all 277 salons and service centers belonging to Musk, counting on deepening the recent decline in sales of his company.
Protests in front of the showrooms
According to AP, in the demonstrations, in which well -known personalities, such as actor John Cusack, participated in each of the car dealerships from several dozen to several hundred people.
Protests took place, among others In front of the Tesla salons in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania, California, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota and in Texas, where Musk lives. The demonstrators kept the banners with the slogans: “Złąb, if you hate Elona” and “stop the spread of billionaires”, chanting: “Elon Musk must leave!”
– I will continue to shout in the Congress corridors. However, I need that you also shout on the streets – the Democratic Congressmenka Jasmine Crockett said earlier. She and other supporters of “Tesla Takedown” protests appealed for the peaceful nature of the manifestation.
In previous demonstrations, some participants committed acts of vandalism, setting on Tesla cars, as the Prosecutor General USA Pam Bondi condemned as an act of internal terrorism.
Musk expressed amazement with attacks and called vandals to “stop behaving like psychopaths.”
