Department of Defense United States informed that support for Ukrainy consists of two parts. The first one includes assistance within the framework of the so-called presidential mechanismo. This means that military equipment will be shipped from U.S. military warehouses and will quickly reach the battlefield. The value of this weaponry is estimated at $200 million.
The second part of the support is for $1.5 billion and will be implemented within the framework of Ukraine Security Support Initiativeswhich assumes the implementation of long-term contracts with American arms suppliers.

Pentagon states that both support packages include, among others: ammunition for HIMARS and NASAMS systems, short and long range anti-aircraft ammunition, RIM-7 air defense missiles, precision aircraft ammunition and mortar shellsThe list also includes Javelin and AT-4 systems, TOW guided missiles, small arms, explosives, communications and satellite imaging systems, and spare parts.
“To the twentieth aid package under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative and the 62nd tranche of equipment to be delivered to Ukraine from the resources of the United States Department of Defense,” the Pentagon said in a statement quoted by the Ukrainska Pravda portal.

The President of Ukraine on social media expressed gratitude to “President Joe Biden, Congress, politicians of both parties and the entire American people”. Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that American support will include “critical ammunitionincluding air defense munitions” and “other equipment critical to strengthening Ukrainian defense.”
“Today in the Kharkiv region I witnessed with my own eyes how continued support allows us to save lives and protect people from Russian attacks. Most importantly, this aid demonstrates America's strength and leadership in the face of aggression and terror. The stronger that leadership, the more stable the world,” he said.
