“Another strike drone flight at a critically low altitude was recorded near the industrial area of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant,” Ukrainian state-owned company Enerhoatom reported on Thursday. The plant is located about 150 kilometers from the Polish border.

“On the night of September 25, another attack drone flight was recorded at a critically low altitude near the industrial area of the Rivne NPP,” Enerhoatom said. The company said Russian troops were again posing a threat to the security of Ukrainian nuclear power plants. “Energy terror is one of the enemy's war tactics. However, it must be stopped as soon as possible.”

The Rivne Nuclear Power Plant in Warsaw is located approximately 150 km as the crow flies east of Poland.

Incident near nuclear power plant

This is not the first such incident in recent times. Last week, two incidents occurred in the immediate vicinity of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant in the city of Nitsyshin in western Ukraine. This is less than 200 km as the crow flies from the border with Poland.

On September 20, Khmelnytskyi region authorities reported that one of Russia's attack drones flew right next to the power plant. On September 23, Enerhoatom announced that Russian troops had simulated a drone attack on the power plant facilities. Enerhoatom considered that such actions by Russia intensified energy terror.

On Wednesday, the Ukrainian government-affiliated Center for Combating Disinformation reported that Russian troops were training drone pilots at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant they occupied and were attacking Ukrainian-controlled areas from there.
